
Sam Knapp - Director of Aquatics (Roadrunner Elite)
Sam joined Roadrunner Aquatics in August 2023 after spending 5 years at Liz van Welie Aquatics in Tauranga, NZ. He helped grow the club to become one of top in the Bay of Plenty region culminating in 4 consecutive junior championships from 2019-2022 and two top-10 finishes at New Zealand senior national meets in 2021 & 2023. Prior to LVWA, Sam was the assistant coach at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin coaching swimmers to 17 school records during his two years there. Sam has his BS in Psychology from Wingate University where he was a three-time BMC champion and his MA from UTPB.

Cristian Serrato - Head Age Group Coach (Gold/Group 3)
Cristian has been a staple in the Bakersfield community for the past six years and we are thrilled to have him join our Roadrunner Staff. Cristian has coached multiple Junior Olympic, SWAGR, and Far Western qualifiers. He has also developed Senior and Age-Group Zone team members. He's had swimmers in the national top-10 for age group, and a swimmer qualify for Winter Juniors. On top of that he has coached Fitter and faster camps, and Age Group Zone teams. Cristian will be overseeing our age groupers development till they reach the senior swimming level. Cristian graduated from CSUB with a Bachelors in Kinesiology and is currently working on his Masters.

- Sarah Mansour- Head Evaluator (Roadrunner Elite Assistant & Roster Management)
- Sarah starts her 8th season with Roadrunner Aquatics. Sarah has been the lead coach with Group 2 for the last six years. She has been a tremendous reason why group two has been so successful. Sarah has also been an assistant coach with CSUB for six seasons and helped the Roadrunner Elite program the summer of 2023. Sarah's role has changed over the years and will continue to grow. Sarah will continue to be the lead evaluator, helping with any administrative duties and will be moving her coaching duties to the Elite group.
Nancy Vear - Head Diving Coach
Nancy joined CSUB in the fall of 2023 from Hobart and William Smith College. She previously spent nearly a decade as a club diving coach in the Houston area. Her divers broke all pool and school records while at Hobart. The owner and head coach for NV Aquatics since 2019, Vear had all of her senior divers accept Division I scholarship offers in 2020. Before opening her own club, She spent two years coaching for Woodlands Diving Academy and four years at Conroe Diving Club. Vear's divers won five AAU National Championships. She also coached the 2018 USA Diving 16-18 national champion on the 1-meter board. Additionally, Vear coaches at the Senior National Level and led Team USA's Junior National Team at the 2019 Youth Games in Dresden, Germany. Vear got her start in coaching in gymnastics. She established, funded and implemented a volunteer recreational and competitive gymnastics program for Hillsdale (Mich.) Preparatory School. She also spent a year coaching recreational and competitive gymnasts at Endeavor Elite Gymnastics Academy in Pasedena, Texas. Vear has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oakland University. |
